Vehicle Pricing and Disclosure Reminders

27. August 2018 09:14

Thanks for being a part of our trusted dealer network.  Here are a few reminders of important policies that keep this marketplace a great experience for everyone.

- Pricing should be capped at $500 over book including miles.  With The Dealers' Forum approval, some specialty vehicles may be granted exception, i.e. lifted trucks, specialty vehicles and highly modified vehicles.  Take a realistic look at the retail price, and then back off an appropriate margin.  Asking too much for the car just reduces the amount of offers.

- All negative items on CARFAX need to be disclosed, INCLUDING "Minor Damage Reported", "Damage Reported", and "Other Damage Reported." Please be careful when posting vehicles, because many of the negative items are not on the first line of the CARFAX and can be easily missed.

- If announcing a car as certified, it must meet the manufacturer's standards.

- Prior rentals need to be announced.

- Prior paintwork, excluding bumpers, needs to be disclosed.

- Disclose tires that are not at least 5/32 and matching.

- Brakes should measure 50% or greater.

- Announce open recalls.

Wishing all of you a strong close to the month and a great Labor Day weekend!
